Chimney inspections involve navigating dark, confined, and often sooty spaces. Standard camera housings were insufficient, offering limited protection and mounting options. Inspection Fire required a solution that:

• Protected cameras from impact, dust, and soot.
• Provided stable mounting for lights and accessories.
• Allowed precise camera positioning within the chimney.
• Ensured ease of use in the field.

The Solution

We designed and engineered two rugged camera cases tailored for the GoPro Hero Max and Insta360 cameras to be used for chimney inspections with the following features.

1. Ruggedized Construction

• Built to endure falls and extreme conditions.
• Smooth surface to reduce the chances of snagging.
• Reinforced edges to prevent damage from accidental drops.

2. Mounting Points for Accessories

• Integrated light mounts for improved visibility in dark chimneys.
• Whisker mounts to help center the camera for better imaging and stability.
• Attachment points for a camera pole, allowing controlled movement and depth adjustments during inspections.

3. Ergonomic and Practical Design

• Lightweight yet durable for easy handling.
• Secure locking system to prevent accidental dislodging.
